Penn StartUP Fund

In January 2026, Penn announced the launch of its StartUP Fund, a new early-stage investment fund dedicated to supporting startup companies founded by Penn researchers and based on innovations created at the University.

Managed by Penn’s Office of the Chief Investment Officer (OCINO), and backed by a $10M commitment from the University, the StartUP Fund provides vital seed-stage capital investments to qualifying startups drawn from across the Penn research community. Learn more and access the application here.

PxB Fund

Penn, BioNTech and Osage University Partners (OUP) launched a $50 million Penn-BioNTech Innovative Therapeutics Seed Fund called the PxB Fund, a dedicated venture capital fund focused on early-stage life science companies originating from Penn.
