LabArchives to provide in-person training for Penn researchers and instructors

Penn will be holding on-site LabArchives training on September 19-20. Sessions will target investigators new to the electronic research notebook system as well as those interested in learning its more advanced capabilities.

Last summer the Vice Provost for Research and the Vice Provost of Education began offering the LabArchives Electronic Research Notebook system for researchers, instructors, and students. LabArchives offers Penn Researchers free access to a modern, secure, cloud-based method of managing their lab data. It also offers Penn instructors a robust collaboration and instruction platform.

As part of our Research Excellence program, we will be offering two days of training to support best practices for data management and adoption of LabArchives. Training sessions will take place on the following days:

  • Thursday, September 19, 2019 – 9am Intro Session; 11am Advanced Session; 1:30pm Classroom edition (Location information)
  • Friday, September 20, 2019 – 9am Intro Session; 10:30am Advanced Session; 1:30pm Open house (Location information)

For location, details, and registration, visit the Electronic Research Notebook Days page.

Interested researchers and instructors may also add themselves to a Penn email list for our community of LabArchives users, which is an opt-in list to share ideas, templates, and help, as well as to receive periodic updates on the service at Penn. To sign up, enter your email address in the purple “Subscribe” box on the Penn Research Notebooks homepage.

Finally, LabArchives users may always find support in the LabArchives KnowledgeBase, from video tutorials, or via the Penn Research Notebooks website.
