Penn I-Corps Program Promotes Interdisciplinary Entrepreneurship Among Faculty and Students

The Penn I-Corps program provides a unique opportunity for students, researchers, and faculty innovators to validate the market need for their technologies. Through training in customer discovery, participants learn how to identify a niche market for their innovations, guiding them from idea to impact.

In FY2024, Penn I-Corps hosted two cohorts, with a total of 19 teams completing the program. These teams worked on a wide range of cutting-edge technologies, with a focus on medical devices, AI, digital health, energy, food science, imaging, and therapeutics. Teams included participants ranging from undergraduates to faculty across Penn’s schools, including the School of Arts and Sciences, Penn Engineering, and the Perelman School of Medicine.

PCI also helped organize the Hispanic Innovation Forum, which was hosted by the NSF I-Corps Hub: Mid-Atlantic Region, which was held on October 12, 2023 during Hispanic Heritage Month. The virtual event featured keynote speakers, panels, and breakout sessions focused on innovation, entrepreneurship, and highlighted Hispanic leaders and entrepreneurs. More details can be found in this news article.
