Penn Researchers Help Develop Data-driven Map Showing Local Economic Impact of Cuts to Federal Funding for Health Research

Researchers at Penn and partner institutions created an interactive map showing the potential impact of proposed NIH funding cuts, estimating up to a $16 billion economic loss and 68,000 jobs eliminated nationwide. The Science & Community Impacts Mapping Project (SCIMaP) aims to demonstrate how reduced investment in health research negatively affects both innovation and local economies.
