In real estate services firm CBRE’s 2023 Life Sciences Research Talent report, Philadelphia ranked sixth among the top 25 US life sciences markets, two spots above its number eight ranking from last year.
According to CBRE, Philadelphia has one of the highest concentrations of life sciences researchers in the United States, with 0.6% of its total labor force working in the life sciences. The region has also seen 18% growth in the number of life science researchers in the area between 2017 and 2022.
Additionally, life sciences workers in Philadelphia have some of the highest average wages, with biochemists making an average of $119,102 annually, biomedical engineers making $102,716, biophysicists making $118,834 and chemists making $93,263. Read more here.
