Cogwear to Open New Manufacturing Facility in St. Paul as it Continues to Expand  

Penn spinout Cogwear, a medical device startup co-founded by Michael Platt, PhD, the James S. Riepe University Professor, Professor of Neuroscience, Professor of Psychology, and Professor of Marketing in Penn Medicine, Penn Arts and Sciences and Wharton, is set to expand its current operations by opening a new manufacturing facility in St. Paul, Minnesota. This new site will support the production of Cogwear’s second-generation brain-tracking headband, which offers real-time insights into various brain functions such as attention, fatigue and memory, and may significantly impact the monitoring and treatment of mental health issues. 
 
Through this expansion, Cogwear plans to increase its workforce and automate the manufacturing of its proprietary sensors that provide clinical-grade EEG data.
