This year’s Y-Prize winner was Equimeter, co-founded by a team of Penn students developing commercial applications for a physics-informed neural network to improve pulse oximetry in patients with darker skin.
The Equimeter team includes three Penn undergraduates from the Vagelos Life Sciences Management program at Wharton: Advait Thaploo, Ujjayi Pamidigantam, and Parthiv Patel.
The Y-Prize competition, which receives technical support from PCI, is an annual contest in which members of the Penn community compete to propose the best applications for an emerging technology. The winners receive a $10,000 cash award to help turn their idea into a reality. PCI wishes Equimeter the best of luck in this exciting new venture.
