New Method Created for Improving the Resolution of Routine Medical Images

Chamith Rajapakse, PhD, Associate Professor of Radiology in Penn Medicine, has invented a deep learning algorithm that improves the resolution of routine low medical images (e.g., CT, MRI, etc.) without the need for increased radiation or scan time. The algorithm can be used to provide information on bone health and for opportunistic scanning for osteoporosis during low dose CT scans. The technology can also be useful for cone beam CT dental scans, brain imaging, and other applications. Learn more here.
