All NewsPhiladelphia—The Penn Center for Innovation (PCI) has announced two key appointments to support the next phase of its comprehensive innovation and commercialization plan. Building on his notable success leading the creation and remarkable growth of PCI over the last decade, John Swartley, PhD, has been promoted to Penn’s Chief Innovation Officer (CIO), a new position created by the University to further expand and implement a University-wide innovation agenda in close partnership with PCI and other critical stakeholders at Penn. Benjamin Dibling, PhD, most recently PCI’s Deputy Managing Director, has been promoted to Associate Vice Provost for Research and Managing Director of PCI.

PCI is excited to share a state-of-the-art video featuring a new technology from Penn Engineering.
Marc Miskin, PhD, Assistant Professor of Electrical and Systems Engineering at Penn Engineering, and David Gonzalez-Medrano, a PhD candidate in Electrical and Systems Engineering at Penn Engineering, have developed an invention that improves the experience of using reflective display devices, such as smartwatches, e-readers, and various IoT devices, where battery life is a critical factor.
