PCI, along with colleagues from Pennovation Works, attended the SXSW Interactive Conference in Austin, Texas this Spring to help promote Penn’s technology and startup portfolio and to provide support to Amplify Philly’s efforts to further encourage innovation in Philadelphia. The annual conference represents a great opportunity to share the innovation initiatives emerging out of Penn and Philadelphia with a global audience.
Michael Poisel, MS, MBA, Executive Director of PCI Ventures, spoke on a panel for Amplify Philly’s “Philly Made: Entrepreneur Round Table” and shared stories about the robust startup environment at Penn.
Additionally, the Penn-Wharton Austin Alumni Club hosted a startup pitch session in partnership with PCI, which included two graduates from PCI’s I-Corps accelerator. Wharton student Noah Levi pitched Percussion, a medical device that utilizes novel non-invasive therapy to treat sinusitis, and IPD Graduate student Nika Koda pitched Blossom, a rehabilitation tool for stroke patients.
