Philadelphia-area companies, researchers battling Covid-19 among recipients of $10 million in grants

The state will provide $10 million in grants to 23 Pennsylvania life sciences companies, universities and research institutions working on Covid-19 vaccines and treatments.

The University of Pennsylvania received two grants totaling nearly $876,000 for work on a Covid-19 vaccine and on therapeutics including a study looking approaches for treating obese patients infected by the virus.
