Deep Jariwala, PhD, Associate Professor of Electrical and Systems Engineering at Penn Engineering, received the SPIE Early Career Achievement Award, which recognizes significant and innovative technical contributions within the first five years of a faculty appointment. Jariwala was honored for his pioneering work on light-matter interactions in quantum-confined materials and the development of excitonic metamaterials.
