Katalin Karikó, PhD, an adjunct professor of Neurosurgery, and Drew Weissman, MD, PhD, the Roberts Family Professor in Vaccine Research, officially received the Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine for their mRNA research that led to vaccines that helped to end a pandemic, in Sweden on December 10, 2023. The two were celebrated at several days of ceremonies and festivities in Sweden, two months after first learning the news. Watch a recording of Weissman speaking at the event here.
