Philadelphia region designated a federal tech hub for life sciences

The Philadelphia region has been designated as a federal innovation and technology hub, allowing it to compete for a grant of up to $75 million to advance its life sciences industry.

The Greater Philadelphia Region Precision Medicine Tech Hub, led by Ben Franklin Technology Partners, was chosen from over 370 applications as part of the CHIPS and Science Act’s initiative to rejuvenate advanced manufacturing in the United States.

As the city continues to expand its cell and gene therapy manufacturing, this designation recognizes Philadelphia as a national and global leader in medical innovation. Read more here.
