Since January 2022, PCI has welcomed four new staff members to the team. Get to know more about them by reading their bios below.
Dr. Terry Bray – Executive Director of Licensing, Physical Sciences and Engineering
Dr. Terry Bray has more than 30 years experience in the creation, development, and commercialization of innovative technologies. Terry started his career as a researcher at University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he developed several technologies that were commercialized and is an inventor on several issued patents. He then went on to hold leadership positions at Georgia Tech Research Corporation, Atherotech Diagnostics Lab, the University of Alabama at Birmingham and North Carolina State University. Now an empty nester, Terry enjoys his free time hiking, cooking, entertaining, gardening and traveling.
Neetu Amin – Assistant Director, Technology Licensing, Penn Dental Medicine, Penn Nursing, School of Veterinary Medicine
Neetu is a Philadelphia native. She graduated with a PhD from Drexel University, then completed her postdoctoral training at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School where she developed an interest in business development, patent law, and commercialization. After a fellowship at the Harvard Office of Technology Development and working as a life sciences Technology Specialist at an IP boutique law firm in Boston and then back home at a general practice law firm in Philadelphia, she transitioned back into BD and Licensing for three years before joining PCI. At PCI, she is the Assistant Director of Licensing for the Veterinary, Dental, and Nursing schools. Her scientific background varies from epigenetics and development, behavior, and neurogenesis, to epigenetics and cancer, transcription, and cell cycle, and some bioinformatics. In her free time, she enjoys singing, hiking, travelling, spending time with family, and practicing and teaching yoga.
Eugene Hsue – Associate Director, Corporate Contracts
Eugene is the newest member of the Corporate Contracts team, and is looking forward to negotiating and drafting CDAs, MTAs, and SRAs, while working closely with our Licensing colleagues. Before this, he negotiated and drafted data license agreements and SaaS implementation contracts at the City’s Law Department; he’s also served as Head of Research at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. In his free time, he most enjoys reading books aloud to his daughter, hiking or cycling outdoors with friends or family, and making pasta at home. He speaks French, Mandarin Chinese, and is learning Italian.
Samantha (Sam) Savello – Marketing & Communications Manager
After studying Spanish Literature at Brown University, Sam went on to spearhead social media marketing at several startups in the tech space. She also started her own marketing consulting business, where she worked with small businesses to elevate their brand and boost social media presence. Sam’s passion for entrepreneurship and innovation brought her to PCI, where she manages the website, social media, and email newsletters. When she’s not working, Sam loves spending time with her chocolate lab puppy Charlie, writing poetry, practicing yoga, and trying new restaurants around Philly.
