Franklin Biolabs Names its First CEO

Franklin Biolabs, a Penn spinout founded by James Wilson, MD, PhD, Rose H. Weiss Professor in Penn Medicine, has named Vatsala Naageshwaran as its first chief executive officer. 

Naageshwaran joins Franklin Biolabs from Pharmaron, where she was a vice president and head of business development for U.S. cell and gene therapy and lab services. Naageshwaran was previously vice president for operations and business development and chief business officer at Absorption Systems, a contract research organization based in Exton.    

Naageshwaran told the Philadelphia Business Journal that after spending more than two decades in the biopharma and contract research and manufacturing sectors, she is excited to join the startup environment and help advance new therapeutics. Read more here
