The funding will support Avisi’s pivotal clinical trial for VisiPlate® – a novel glaucoma treatment device designed to sustainably reduce intraocular pressure. The company was founded in 2017 by a team of Penn students based on technology invented by Igor Bargatin, PhD, Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics at Penn Engineering.
