Cogwear Featured as a Startup to Watch in 2025 

Cogwear, a medical device spinout co-founded by Michael Platt, PhD, the James S. Riepe University Professor, Professor of Neuroscience, Professor of Psychology, and Professor of Marketing in Penn Medicine, Penn Arts and Sciences and Wharton, was listed as one of PHL Inno’s Startups to Watch. PHL Inno, the innovation section of the Philadelphia Business Journal, developed its annual Startups to Watch list to recognize the top ten promising young companies in the Philadelphia region. 

Cogwear’s wearable device gives insights into brain functions, providing high-fidelity brain measurements in real-time. Cogwear’s versatile platform technology has applications in neuromarketing to sports safety to healthcare, including for detection of Alzheimer’s disease and personalized care for mental health conditions. Read the full list of Startups to Watch here.
