Penn Medicine, CHOP receive $25M anonymous gift to accelerate research in rare genetic brain disorders

Penn Medicine and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia have received a joint $25 million gift from an anonymous donor to accelerate research in genetic therapies for conditions that impact brain function.

The donation will establish the Center for Epilepsy and Neurodevelopmental Disorders, which will initially focus on developing therapies for disorders related to genetic mutations that are linked to abnormal brain function, intellectual disability, epilepsy, and motor and behavioral impairments.
