Vasowatch, co-founded by Stefanie Modri, MSN, RN, C-MNN, C-OB, Clinical Adjunct Instructor at the School of Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania, and James Weimer, PhD, former Penn Medicine faculty member and currently Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Vanderbilt University, is developing a physiological biomarker to dramatically reduce the incidence of devastating postpartum hemorrhage incidents.
Vasowatch joined HiveBio’s inaugural cohort, published a technical article describing their technology “VIBRANT: Early Prediction of Life-Threatening Uterine Atony Using Maternal Heart Rate“, and was featured on the podcast “Making Sense of Pregnancy: What Experts Want“. The company was also a featured innovator at the MEDCity Invest Pitch Perfect: HealthTech Payer/Provider Track, Southeast Venture Showcase, and Startup302 Competition.
